Ela Plastic Surgery provides a warm and supportive environment for patients who have breast cancer. These patients will be seen on a priority basis. Dr. Lopez gained additional training in breast reconstruction and microsurgery at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she took care of hundreds of cancer patients.
Dr. Lopez performs reconstructions in an immediate, delayed or immediate-delayed fashion. She has expertise in autologous reconstruction (using your own tissue from the abdomen or back), implant reconstruction and fat transfer techniques. After discussing medical history, the cancer treatment plan and patient goals, an individualized reconstructive plan will be designed for each patient. In addition to the initial reconstruction, Dr. Lopez is able to perform breast revision surgery for patients who desire additional procedures to enhance or improve their reconstruction.
Our office takes pride in listening to patient’s needs and goals, discussing the safest, best treatment plan and also providing realistic expectations regarding desired outcome. We work closely with oncologists and breast surgeons to formulate a comprehensive plan.
